That Spelling is Right!!

Game show host, Bob Treebark introduces his third big hit...That Spelling is Right! Bob reads or flashes a work; contestants spell the work. Sentence context clues are provided. The student with the high score plays the Grand Prize Scramble! Select your spelling level or add your own words. Student records are kept and a list of focus words is tracked for each student, based on words they have missed.

This fun, interactive game designed to strengthen language arts skills through drill and reinforcement activities. The player maneuvers an avatar- the Muncher- around a game board filled with words and letters. The player must select or "munch" the correct answers, as directed by the prompt. The goal is to "munch" as many correct answers as possible to generate points. Incorrect answers result in the Muncher becoming ill and dying. This fun and animated adventure teaches and tests spelling for children ages: 7-11. Players take part in an intergalactic game show adventure, playing challenging spelling games on weird and wonderful planets, and meeting their funny inhabitants.

A child can play ten different spelling games using lists of words you input or any of the built-in lists of 1400 words (Grade Levels K-6). Word lists (up to 30 words each) can be printed and saved on disk for future use. The program has an excellent list editor for easy entry and modification of words and a file manager to keep track of saved lists.  One especially great feature is the program’s ability to use a microphone for you or your child to record the words to be played back during the games!

Word Zapper

Word Zapper helps students identify misspelled words and improve their own spelling. As words move along a conveyor belt, children use the lively word zapping machine to zap misspelled words and allow correctly spelled words to pass. Work continues until the player has made ten errors or has scored 1000 points (50 correct words). Then, errors are reviewed, and the player correctly types each of the words on which an error was made.
