UltraKey 5.0 for Windows and Macintosh, heralds the first ever Internet-connected learning system that enables district-wide learning management through the Internet, enabling full compliance with NCLBA requirements.

The optional UltraKey 5.0 Data Server software installs on any Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP server.

Using Internet protocol (TCP/IP), the UltraKey 5.0 Data Server software communicates with UltraKey 5.0 through any network, wide area network or Internet connection. Subject to licensing, the UltraKey 5.0 Data Server software keeps records, option settings and custom content for any number of schools, classes and students.

Internet protocol enables students to learn at school or at home, while their use of UltraKey 5.0 is monitored and managed by the teacher. Students require a home edition of UltraKey 5.0 for home use.

Internet protocol eliminates technical problems typical of conventional network-based systems. Rather than writing information to a central server, UltraKey 5.0 exchanges messages with the UltraKey 5.0 Data Server software, which writes the information locally within the server. Consequently, no user has to log in and no permissions have to be assigned. This means teachers do not have to set up networks and IT administrators are only required to provide minimal support.
