With Dora the Explorer™, even returning library
books is an adventure! Straight from Nick Jr.'s #1 preschool show, it's Dora
the Explorer™! Now kids can go beyond just watching the show to taking part
in the story and interacting with Dora. In Backpack Adventure, Dora receives
a new Backpack from her parents and sets off to return her library books. Along
the way, Dora, her best friend Boots and her friends Backpack and Map need help
to solve problems, figure out puzzles and play games. Kids will also meet Grumpy
Old Troll, Isa the iguana, Benny the bull, Tico the squirrel and of course that
sneaky fox, Swiper! Dora the Explorer: Backpack Adventure adopts the look and
feel of the television show but puts kids in control of the on-screen action.
Dora the Explorer from the popular Nick Jr TV
show is on CD-ROM for some interactive fun.
Kids 3+ join Dora and Boots the monkey as they
return Dora's books to the library. Backpack has everything they need, but they
need a little help to figure out what to do. There are plenty of stops along
the way with games to play and puzzles to solve.
Players first help Dora find the books in her
room. Kids choose books by color in both English and Spanish. Level one asks
kids to find the right color in English. Dora will say the Spanish word when
the correct book is chosen. Level three challenges children to find the correct
book by the color in Spanish.
Along the path to the library kids must help
Isa in her garden, fill in shapes and complete patterns at the Troll's Bridge,
find a path up the big rock by identifying numbers in English and Spanish and
more. Players must keep an eye out for Swiper, the sneaky fox that tries to
swipe things.
Kids can play the game in two modes. Adventure
Mode follows a story and children complete activities in order. In Freeplay
Mode children can choose any game and play as many times as they like.
Preschoolers learn following directions, problem
solving, number recognition and matching, shape recognition, pattern completion,
color recognition, memory skills, classification, Spanish vocabulary and mouse
skills.
Kids love Dora the Explorer on TV and they
are going to really love interacting with Dora, Boots and all her animal friends.
